Indio gardens cover about three acres, two of which will be open to the public free of charge. In its prime, the garden was highly formal after the Victorian fashion. Currently, the gardens are neglected and overgrown. We are looking for specialists clubs and societies to help bring the gardens back to their former glory. We intend to open the gardens to the public FREE of entrance or admission charges. This will be covered contractually within our planning consent. The gardens will thus become an educational and leisure resource for the public, clubs, universities and interested organisations.

I remember an intricate pattern of beds and grass paths packed into a small but perfect formal square surrounded by granite pillars and a trellice framed by masonry piers. All that remains now is a patch of lumpy grass, the pillars and the masonry. Gardening experts used to chat about the rare varieties. We intend to restore this area completely but we need your expertise if you have it! Rose clubs, colleges and keen gardeners please get in touch!

About 30 years ago and aboriculturalist visited and enthused about several species including a "skeleton" tree (?). Thankfully, they are all still there. Much of the Arboretum is overgrown and will be restored. We intend to turn this into a wonderful short walk, linking to the nature trail and the other gardens (via the Tea House!). ordinary as well as rare species will be fully interpreted. We will create small glades for quiet contemplation so a visit will be informative as well as serene. Interested arboriculturalists, colleges, and keen gardeners please get in touch!
